Brother Frog

So there is this one frog that sits by the side of JT's changing table, and he LOVES to stare at it while Mommy changes the dirty nappies. We've taken to calling the frog "Brother Frog" for no apparent reason other than JT will never have a brother other than the frogs in his room. And Mommy actually caught the remnants of a smile during the early morning (2:00 a.m.) nappy change, so we're posting that picture too. Mommy has become totally obsessed with taking as many pictures as she can during JT's awake times because she's waiting for the photo to make into the birth announcement. We're going to have a fashion show this week so that Mommy and Biggest Sister Athea can capture that one perfect shot... to be posted as soon as it becomes available.

And in case you hadn't already heard, JT is the most perfect newborn ever brought into this family. He wakes up, nurses one side, get his nappy changed, nurses the other side, and goes to sleep for 2-4 hours. Nights have been wonderful, because that is typically when he takes his 4 hour naps, so Mommy has been able to gets lots of rest during the night.

As for Mommy's recovery from the C-Section, it is going very well. Mommy is up and about, already driving again, and grocery shopping, visiting malls, making doctor's appointments, whatever Mommy needs to get done. The lifting of anything over 10 pounds is still a big no-no due to the sutures, but with Athea, the world's greatest helper at my side, everything that needs to be done is getting done. It's funny because the "nesting" process seems to have kicked in after the baby arrived instead of before as in previous pregnancies. Corners of the house that have been sitting waiting to be organized for a year, maybe more, are being conquered one by one, so the house is finally being reclaimed as the home we've wanted it to be for some time now. It's a very nice feeling, and the sense of accomplishment keeps us motivated to do more.
